It’s official – The SKIP Autumn Big Weekend is being hosted in London on 19th-20th November!
The Big Weekend is an excellent event held twice a year which we encourage all SKIP members to attend. A range of training sessions, forums, discussions, workshops, talks and presentations are run on both days, with fun activities arranged for the Saturday night. Big Weekends are a fantastic opportunity for all members of our national charity to meet face to face.
This year we also have the honour of welcoming back a guest speaker, Claire Marie Thomas, who will deliver a talk titled “Why SKIP?”. To find out more about Claire Click Here.
Further details on how to book yourself a place will be coming soon. But for now, book your transport ready for one of the most exciting events in the SKIP calendar!
Congratulations to all of our SKIP branches who have run stalls at their Students’ Union Freshers’ and Volunteering Fairs to recruit new members to volunteer on their 2017 projects. We value every member welcomed to SKIP and it is wonderful to see our committees working so hard to seek out dedicated students interested in global health.
This past weekend saw the SKIP handover to the new National Committee, Mentor and Trustee team! Time was spent planning the coming year, developing skills and sharing the SKIP love…as well as bonding over a few silly activities!
Keep your eyes peeled for an introduction to the new team members, which will be coming soon!
We hope everyone is excited for SKIP 2016-17 as we are!
Get your SKIP summer project photos at the ready, as the summer photo competition will be returning soon! The winning photo will be announced at the Autumn Big Weekend, and featured on the national SKIP pages!
