My vision is to to organise successful events throughout the year that ensure that attendees gain the most they can from each event
My mission is to facilitate the organisation of SKIP events that are enjoyable, inclusive and accessible to as many SKIP members as possible. I will do this by working alongside the host branches to provide support, trying to keep costs to a minimum, working collaboratively with the training and publicity coordinators to provide relevant training and an enjoyable social evening.
I first became involved with SKIP during my first few weeks of starting at the University of Glasgow in 2012. I became a Team Leader and headed out to Malawi on project in August 2013. Throughout that first year of SKIP I fell in love with everything that SKIP was about and I really enjoyed working on project and everything we achieved in that first year at NAYO. When I got back, I joined the Glasgow committee as assistant project coordinator and had another great year. I loved it so much that in 2014 I took on the role of project coordinator for SKIP Glasgow. During my year as pro-co I had a chance to see what the bigger picture of SKIP was all about, and what a great group of people they are! This will be my second year being the Events Coordinator as part of the National committee.
One of the things I am most excited about this year is continuing to play a role in organising the fantastic Big Weekends that SKIP run! I am really looking forward to this year’s Blue Boy Awards night that celebrates that fantastic work of all of our volunteers.
