Trustee Chair

My vision
For all SKIP members to be supported and inspired to achieve SKIP’s vision, reflect SKIP’s values and develop as future professionals

My mission is for SKIP trustees to be supported, motivated and enabled to provide strategic direction for the charity and to drive organisational development, whilst always ensuring the charity is protected and compliant with all legal and financial requirements. I will enable this by creating a nurturing and facilitative environment to support trustees to achieve their own vision and to develop personally and professionally. I will also ensure the same supportive environment is provided for the national committee, mentors and supporting alumni.

I believe that SKIP should be a stimulating, inspiring and fun environment which produces high impact, ethical and sustainable projects.

I first became involved with SKIP when I started as a volunteer with SKIP HYMS on their pilot project to Tanzania in 2010. After having an amazing summer on project, I spent 2 years on the branch committee. On graduating, I joined the national committee for another 2 years. By this point, I was 100% in love with SKIP and had the pleasure of joining the board of trustees.

One of the things I am most excited about this year is having an oversight into all areas of the charity and seeing the incredible progress that everyone will make in their individual roles.

Outside of SKIP I am training to be a psychiatrist while also doing some academic work in global mental health. Outside of work and SKIP, I enjoy playing netball and going to the theatre.
